More Halloween craftiness!
I saw this cute idea on another blog I follow... She made Mummies out of terra cotta pots.
I didn't take a picture of the finished product yet but they turned out so cute.
The girls loved painting. As you can see we have to make sure that everyone and everything is covered so we don't get paint everywhere. I learned from a friend of mine to use Old T-shirts as paint smocks. They work perfect.
J's face here is so cute. She had paint all over her hands by the end.

Here they are the 3 painting sistas!! It was a fun craft. these three love to paint. As for me I think we can only do this once in awhile.

Love your Body 10K
I wish I had more pictures to really show what this meant to me. The most I have ever run is 4 miles. I have wanted to run this 10k(6.2miles) for a few years now. As you can see I have three Beautiful girls and finding the time to run isn't always that easy.
In June of this year we had a miscarriage. It was a hard thing for me. I decided to take this time to do something for me. Maybe a bit selfish but I felt that I needed to do this. I found a great training program on line and followed it to a T. My husband and girls were very supportive. I think the greatest part of this race was in training for it. There were nights that I still hadn't gotten my run in and it was getting dark. My amazing husband would load our girls in the car and follow behind me for my hour of running.
On the Day of the race we got up early and headed to Thanksgiving Point. As we got there I began to feel very alone. As embarrassing as it is I began to cry. Dave asked me what was wrong??? I expressed to him how out of place I felt. I had no running partner and so many people had a buddy. My second issue was my clothes. As you can see I run in my grubbies!! When I got there so many people had these spiffy clothes and running gear. I felt so out of place. I thought to myself " who do you think you are? what makes you think you belong here?"
Dave being his amazing self said "Don't let those things get to you. Do what you came here to do. You have worked hard and you wanted to do this, nothing else matters."
So I was a bit silly.. mostly afraid!! In that moment I learned so much though. How often in our lives do we feel inadequate? or afraid? These thoughts come from Satan. We need to focus on doing what we came here to do.
Well as the race got under way I felt good. It was fun, we ran through the gardens at Thanksgiving Point. They were beautiful. Half way through the race this Lady started to chat with me. We ended up running the rest of the race together. This is the second part of my lessons learned that day. Heavenly Father is aware of us. He sent me an angel to run with me to lighten my load. Many times in our lives Heavenly Father sends us angels in the form of other people to journey with us and make our path a bit brighter. I know that because of this women my race was way more enjoyable and easier to bear.
Last but not least .......we were supposed to run 6.2miles. The day after the race I found out through an email that we actually by accident ran 7.5 miles. I was in shock. I knew it felt longer and they had no mile markers. All in all it was an amazing experience!

A Mothers Prayer (First day of School)
The heaviest thing on my mind and heart lately has been sending my oldest to Kindergarten for the very first time. I know that moms and dads have been doing this for years but for me it is my first time. I know It's only for a couple of hours a day, but it still doesn't change the fact that she is my sweet little girl and it's so hard for me to face the reality that she is growing up. I'm not quite sure how to really handle it. So for now I will continue to wipe away these tears and try to understand how this day came so fast. She is so very excited to go to school. She will have so much fun and make so many new friends.
I found this poem/prayer that another mom had written and I wanted to share it. I thought it was very fitting. And to my Sweet little girl. Have a Happy first Day of School!!
Here we are again, Lord. Their backpacks are loaded and their faces are scrubbed and their lunch accounts are full. And I know You'll walk with them, Lord. You always do. But a mom still has to ask. Will you walk with them? Will You whisper to them what they need to hear, when I'm not there to whisper it? Will You please, oh please cover their school with the protection only You can give, and will you keep harm far away? Will You make their minds strong and ready to learn? Will You help them understand that hard work honors the One who created them? Will you guide their teachers, giving them patience and wisdom and creativity and even more patience? Will you bless them for their efforts? Will You love all those children there, the ones whose lunch accounts aren't full, the ones who feel alone? Will You teach my children to be kind and unselfish and to love those who are different from them? Will You point them back toward home just as soon as You can? Lord, I give them to you today and everyday, trusting them to Your care. Amen

Off With The Training Wheels
This has been a first for us all!! We decided it was time to take the training wheels off of Beans Bike. She was a bit nervous but determined to give it a try. She had practically worn the training wheels to the ground. I would like to say she picked it up pretty quickly but reality is we have been practicing and practicing. I am proud of her for not giving up.
Her cute little helmet head! She's ready to give it a shot.
Dave was so good to give her a few motivating pep talks. You can see how hard she's concentrating.

One of her many spills. It's so hard watching them fall but knowing they need to get back up and do it. She was very nervous.
After lots of practice she came outside one day and got on that bike and I could see she had finally gotten it. She took off down the street. Dave came running outside asking what was going on? He asked me when she had figured it out. I told him just now. She rode down the street yelling "I'm doing it!" What a proud parent moment that was for me.
Now she wants to ride everywhere.

Eternity!
My baby sister went to the Temple recently to be sealed to her husband and adorable precious baby. We were so glad to be apart of it. Congrats Ash! We love you and your super cute Family.
It was a Beautiful Day! Aren't the a cute Family. I loved when the Brought baby Aiden in to be sealed to his mommy and daddy. This little boy has a special place in my heart.
I just added this in because Dave and I don't get many pictures together. I am so grateful for our Marriage! Dave and I were sealed 6 yrs ago in the Salt Lake Temple. It was fun to be there again.
Look at that Smile. What a happy Day! My grandparents and one of my Aunts came. We went and ate afterwards and it was so fun to visit with my Family. A Good Day!
Congrats Graduate!
Dave Graduated in April with his B.S. Degree. He has been going to School the whole time we have been married. You can imagine how excited we are to have him home more often.
The girls have really sacrificed their time over these years with their Daddy. What a great support system these three girls are.... wouldn't you say.
This is Dave and some of his school buddies. I am glad we finally got to meet them and their families. We had heard so much about them.
Pres. Thomas Monson was the speaker for Dave's Graduation. We were so excited to know he would be there.
He is such a good humored person. I love him. Pres. Monson talked about the ABC's of an abundant life. A being Attitude(attitude of gratitude). B was Belief ( believe you can do what you wan to do and hold strong to the values you believe in. C was courage( face your fears with courage and move forward in life with courage. The girls thought it was pretty cool to see the prophet (not on T.V)
6 yrs, 3 daughters and a graduation later.......here we are. What a journey it has been so far. We look forward to the next chapter in our lives. Congratulations Dave!! You did it and we are so proud of you!

My cute Monster!
This little Monster of mine likes to terrorize everyone. She is always doing something to get a giggle or smile out of us.

J found this hat in her room and came waddling in with it placed on her head half way over her eye. She just sturted around making sure everyone was watching. She was very proud of what she had done. I can't believe how fast she is growing. I feel like I just keep saying that about my kids but seriously...... they are growing like weeds. Thanks for the smiles J!

Gettin our Craft on!
As January came to an end we figured we'd better get some Valentines Decorations up. We made hearts out of wax paper and Crayons. The girls were very helpful not to mention excited!!
I remember being a little girl and Making little things like this with my mom. I loved and do love every holiday. I especially love how as a parent I get to experience the holidays through my children's eyes.
We had fun. As of late it feels that so much of what I do is the grunt work. Cleaning, stopping fights, feeding, more cleaning, cooking, dressing everyone, doing their hair, and more cleaning. Needless to say it starts feeling a bit overwhelming and mundane. I have decided to take a different perspective on all of that though. Over the last few weeks I have been following a blog about a family and their amazing miracle. I related so much to this mom as she has four boys and is trying to fit it all in. She got distracted and her youngest son Drowned in the tub. You'll have to go read her story but as I read her story I couldn't help but think of all the ways that I get distracted from what is really important.
I feel that there are so many things that could occupy my time but it's up to me to choose what is most important. I love my Girls! They bring me some of my greatest joys. I am glad I have them. I know that if anything ever happened to them I would crumble. So my perspective that I hope to have is this...... I am grateful for smudges on the walls because that means I still have little ones(I know they will grow up way too fast.)

I am so grateful to have laundry to wash. I am grateful I have little mouths around to feed. I am grateful for crying because that means some little person wants me to hold them.
I know that everything in life is about perspective. I know that as we look for reasons to be grateful our perspective changes.
And as I wrapped up my craft with my girls I am reminded to take these moments. To just enjoy life and focus on what's most important.
